Wow, these guys work fast and used their trenchless repair on replacing our water supply line between the meter and my home. I called right before Thanksgiving when we found out our water line blew and lost tens of thousands of gallons in a few days. They were able to call the county, get all the utilities marked and began work immediately. I would recommend these guys to anyone who is having issues. My home was a bit difficult due to the rocky soil and two oak trees in front, but they were able to get through all of that and build a new main water shutoff in our utility room (it wasn't there in the first place). Great quality and work!

We contacted their recommended line leak detector company, who came out to find and mark the leak area the next day. The repair took place a few days later, when our schedules allowed. It only took a few hours, with minimal digging, and after Miss Utility inspected the repair, the ground was replaced, including the sod. The company made the whole process easy, and we've sent the receipt on to Fairfax Water for a (hopeful) bill adjustment.

Needed an emergency water service lateral replaced. Dan was very professional, proactive, and communicative. Estimate came back substantially lower than competitors. Once we decided to proceed, they were able to fit us in same week short notice. On the day of, they were in and out within 2.5hrs. Showed up on time, no hassle. We're new homeowners and never dealt with this kind of issue before but they made it easy and simple to deal with, making sure we were on the same page with expectations and action items each step of the way. Congrats! You have found the best plumber in the metro area if you need a water line replaced. This team was fantastic from start to finish. Honest fair pricing in their quote, then they used the least intrusive way of repairing the line. Our original defective polybutylene main line in the front yard was leaking badly, and they replaced it with 1in copper. The total time it took from the main being shut off until we could use the water again was less than 3 hours. The line was bored so it didn't tear up the yard, and after they completed the backfill and replacing the few pieces of grass the following day you would have no idea they had been there. They did as good a job as a landscaper.

This company has shown high professionalism, experience and expertise in replacing the main water line. The techniques they used require little digging. The lawn was restored after the installation was done.

Estimate was half of what the others wanted to charge for 300+ ft of water line replacement. Work was obviously performed by skilled/master tradesmen. I watched. They brought a full crew and the right equipment. Job took 1/2 day and they did a great "after" job recovery. It's hard to tell that work had been done, even the garden area close to the house was restored. Finally, they beat their own estimate by 6.25%. I'll say it again: Their estimate beat the other two by 50% and their final invoice was 6.25% below their own estimate. I almost forgot. Their no charge, full parts and labor warranty period exceeded the others by 25%. Thanks again American! I wish that I hadn't wasted $60 to get that "other company" to just show up to do an estimate. I like to pick my own charities.

Dan and his crew replaced my main water line back around April/May. I was looking to replace my water line and was so lucky to find American Plumbing. I can honestly tell you, all the stellar reviews are true. Dan responded to my texts within minutes (and I texted him at like 7pm!), come out the next day and spent time figuring out the best way to replace the water line with the minimal drywall cutting. His quote is also the best among other companies I talked to, and he also gave me some discount to work with my budget. A couple of months passed and we have had no issues since. It’s been a bit since these guys were at my house, but they have saved my sanity twice. First time the water main broke and I couldn’t afford the whole replacement. They did what they could to help me out. A year later another water main break, different spot, and this time I could afford the full replacement. I’ve never been so happy with contractors before. Absolutely superb professionals! I was indeed very fortunate to have discovered American Plumbing, a company specifically experienced in repairing main water pipes. Dave, the company owner, personally came out to inspect and diagnose the problem. Based on what I had heard from other people who had experienced similar main water pipe breakages, I was expecting Dave to tell me that he d have to tear up the front lawn to gain access to the water pipe. Instead, he confidently proposed that his course of action would not involve disturbing the front lawn. Instead, his solution would include snaking a copper (not plastic) piping tube underground using the existing plastic tubing as a guide. His cost estimate was almost half of what the â big name plumbing companies were asking. Dave's easy-going and honest manner, coupled with his 40 years expertise, and of course, the phenomenal estimated cost convinced me that the job would be done to perfection, on schedule, and within budget. It was great interacting and working with Dan, I was away on vacation when our main water line broke. Contacted him through Home Advisor. He visited my property the very next morning and gave an estimate and provided all the necessary info over phone and sent me the video and pictures of the problem. Decided to replace the Main line based on his advice instead of repairing the 35 year old pipe which was very brittle and could cause it to break later. They did a temporary repair to make sure we had water when we returned from the vacation.
